The 5 villages of Leucate stretch along the 18 kilometers of fine sand beaches. The beaches width varies from 400 meters (Plage des Coussoules in la Franqui) to a few meters for the well-protected beach of La Plagette, at the feet of the cliff. The full East exposure allows the braves and the night-owls to admire beautiful sunrises.
On the other side, the sea pond, surrounded by the Mount Canigou and the Corbières mountain range, boasts small cozy beaches with warm and shallow water. There, the lovers of long afternoon could delight in magnificent sunsets.

Leucate Plage has the only beach of the coast which is sheltered from the wind "la Tramontane".
